- GPN will be administering The International Emergency Medicine through the Department of Emergency Medicine which houses the Florida State University College of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH).
- The program has a strong focus on advancement of academic emergency medicine internationally.
- The purpose of the fellowship program is to promote experiences, educational initiatives, and research pertinent to the development of international emergency medicine and health.
- The program strives to promote the development and evaluation of emergency care systems throughout the world, by way of field experience, research, education, and clinical mentoring.
- We aspire to enable U.S. physicians to develop leadership skills, knowledge, and experience in order to significantly impact the international community and facilitate future career opportunities.
- We have a strong commitment to International Medicine and have solid experience in championing the growth of Academic Emergency Medicine in India via the INDUSEM Mission.
- We work closely with the American College of Academic International Medicine and The World Academic Council of Emergency Medicine which has a spread of academic networks in Europe, Australasia, India, Sri Lanka, GHANA, Turkey, Malaysia and Qatar.
- We hope to encompass collaborative creativity in our efforts based on principles of high quality academic training, innovative academic research, safe patient care and futuristic academic policies which can save lives of emergency patients across the world.
- Our Fellowship Graduate will be ready to peruse an academic career in International Medicine with a focus on Emergency Sciences.
- Careers in International Policy Development, International Program Management, Humanitarian Responses, are other opportunities in addition to a career in Academic Emergency Medicine focused on International Medicine.
